Didn't fall asleep until after noon (but before 1 - I assume anyway, don't remember the noon news ending). Woke up about 4 hours later with the start of those leg pains. Yay for neuropathy, it's fun, really... or not. Luckily I woke up before it was in full effect and it seemed to fade fast but keeps hinting it's not done attacking me yet, starts to, stops, etc. It's just as strong as it always was, but somehow it didn't make me wanna scream and cry the second I felt it. Between the not enough sleep and that leg pain I am soooo wiped out today that I am not sure how I am functioning. I am tired. Yeah I know, it's not 6 AM, WTF? Took two neurontins and hope they start to help so I am not afraid to lay down. I am only afraid of sleeping at two times -
1) right after one of those leg neuropathy attacks
2) right after one of those Myoclonus "twitch" attacks (silly I know, but when I lay down and my whole body twitches my brain tells me that if I try to sleep the twitching will continue and I'll have a seizure, even though that's NEVER happened).
Oddly enough as I was typing this, Nightline was doing a special on chronic pain in America and how the DEA is cracking down to the point some pharmacies won't carrry the good pain meds and doctors are afraid to prescribe them because if they have too many patients on them they get investigated, etc. Yeah. Lovely. The legit chronic pain sufferers were complaining about how doctors can't do shit for their pain and if they do, they never do enough or then when they move and get new doctors tell them too bad your old doctors had you on the best meds you could get so now there is nothing left. Doctors were complaining about how they shouldn't be afraid to give a legit chronic pain sufferer oxy if they KNOW it is their only hope - yet they're made to feel like they have to give them Tylenol so they don't lose their licenses. Etc. DEA is trying to protect us from becoming addicts. How nice of them. I agree with the chick who said she's not an addict she's dependent. Big difference. I haven't asked for REAL pain killers yet because I know I will work my way to highest doses too early (my body adjusts to meds that actually help way too soon). But if I someday HAVE to take them or cannot take the pain at all, hell yeah I will take anything it takes. Most people would already be on oxy if they dealt with my pain, I'm just trying to adjust to it so I can avoid them as long as possible.
